Stargo, of course you need to "read back!" Otherwise, you would end up getting lost (like me xD).

Oh if you want to keep debating I don't mind reef, i just started getting confused reading back into the thread.... i just thought we were getting into a really good convo! lol of course theyre not meant to change people's minds, of course we're never going to agree, if that was the goal of conversations it'd be pointless talking about anything! lol

Well, that is another arguing subject. We are talking about subjects that don't involve arguing!

thats not arguing. "i hate you!" "you smell bad!" "so does your mum!" is arguing
disagreeing on something doesnt make it an argument, would you call someone saying they like gypsy vanners best and someone saying they like quarter horses best an argument? theres a huge difference between an argument and a discussion

Reef, an argument doesn't have to be bad. Just ask mate. xD She isn't all bad, but she likes to argue.

she sticks up for what she beleives in, which is perfectly fine. =] besides...a good convo makes things interesting...like the presidential candidates...it allows you to see both sides of something.

Yup, and in a way, aren't debates arguments? I mean, they don't yell, "YOUR MOM!" across the desk, but they do rub eachother the wrong way occasionally.

but argument implies something negative, it implies aggression. discussions/debates are showing conflicting opinions but in a constructive manner. thats what i think, anyways
