My horse and I were comming out from a small x-rail(hes just learning to jump) and he started to canter, buuutt, he is a total cluts, his legs are too long for him(no hes not a baby, he's 10, just never grew into his legs:P ) and he stepped into a deep spot, tripped, and went right down. My boy was falling same direction I flipped went flying, but he made sure to lean the other way untill I had safely flipped out of the saddle, and out of landing on distance. Thats one of my only 'falls', the other was similar, only without the jump, all the rest have been my horse falling, and me jumping off.

;DYep, he had a scrape on his nose, but other than that, we were all ok. My mom and my coach were freaking out, but I was just thinking 'Oh man, not again!' lol

thats the worst part about falling, the people watching you! i remember when i first started jumping and i came off a fabulous skewbald cob, and my mum panicked and ran into the school to see if the horse was ok! the instructor picked me out of the mud, while my mum was busy looking after him lol

i have fallen off so many times..i used to ride a 2yr old horse that i broke and i would always fall of her....once the saddle slid under her belly and i kinda hung there. lol. i didnt know what to do..apparently the girth was too big, but i was new at riding and ya...it was a catastrophy.

bad luck, gold! she must have flipped out! i've only ever seen that happen once, luckily on a completely bombproof schoolmaster cob who just stood there wondering why his rider was on the floor lol

ajax would go completely skitz if that happened! haha but usually if you can keep your weight centred it shouldnt be a problem even if your girth is non-existant. but that's easier said than done, a lot of the time

Hmmm...the one that sticks out at me the most happened about 3-4 years ago. It's not a fall...but it could've been. lol. I was riding the horse that I was leasing at the time, Baby. She gets really excited and likes to run around like a nutcase. Well we were out on the cross country course just jumping some small things when she slids to a stop at a log and jumps to the side and takes off at a gallop. Well I ended up on her neck...and she is galloping like crazy. Needless to say I was pretty freaked out, but eventually got her to stop and push myself back into the saddle.
That's about it, I've only fallen off jumping and nothing exciting has ever really happened with that. lol.

About the girth thing, my trainer sometimes doesn't tighten the girth all the way to keep me centered! It is kinda scary... LOL but I've never slipped.

norsu, thats a scary thought! lol as long as its working i guess... but wouldnt you be better doing bareback so if you do fall off your horse doesnt think something's trying to tear his bellyparts out?

LOL yeah, I love riding bareback with that thing that is like a harness... I can't think of it's name right now. If I had a horse I would probably never use a saddle!

Lol. No, it wasn't a pad, it was just like the thing that harness horses wear around their necks but it was around the withers.

i used to work at a trail riding place, and we never tightened the girths all the way..it was too unconfortable for the horses. it was just tight enough to keep the saddle from slipping.
and about my near death experience- the filly had flipped out from an IDIOT honking his horn as he drove by us (the round pen was kind of by the road) and she flipped and i couldnt keep centered. if the same thing happened to me now, i would have no problem handleing it, but back then i was a really small girl. lol

and norsu- you mean a colar??? that is what harness horses wear when they have a working harness on..if it is a pleasure harness it would be the breast plate part of the harness...(i drive ponies)
