Yeah, exactly! I feel like I am making a trail for my brother, and I want to do it right, but I have nothing to go by. I mean, I can talk to my parents and stuff, but things just aren't the same now as they were when parents were kids.

the best thing my brother ever taught me was to study for exams - he's so clever but got complacent and didnt get the qualifications he needed to get into his 1st choice uni. you dont have to be a perfect role-model for your brother, he'll learn from your mistakes as well as your triumphs

Yes, and my mistakes- not in life, but as a sister- are coming back to haunt me- as my brother. *shudders*

I agree. I show and I see this alot and I 'am sick of it. I know it is hard some times especialy if you get placed well. You sometime forget that your horse also did as much work as you did. Its sad because I see this in 4 - H.

i see it in 4-H, too. it has changed soo much over the years...you see snobby spoiled youth with their $20,000 professionally trained horses and their $3,000 outfits going against a poor kid with their $800 backyard pony and their $50 outfit. its just sad and unfair...and then the attitude those girls and guys have is rediculous! they act as though they are soooo better and shove it in others faces. i was at a show once and messed up a pattern and these two spoiled girls both gave these STUPID disgused faces and said "she has got to go." i was like, you are kidding, right? soo stupid...i look forward to this year..i have been practicing my patterns.=]
