I mean that girl enter in ever class to get all those ribbions and sliver plates.. I didn't do very good, but I still had fun laughing at my fall and forgeting my course..Yeah that sucked badly to forget a course. I fell off right before that class and forgot my course to the jumpers course. But i look at my mistakes and fix them as good as I can. I work on things. Gold you should be like that, jsut be glad you there actual showing and showing people what you and your horse can do with out a freakin ribbion. I mean I only have 3 ribbions. I say I want more because I see people on myspace with ribbions hanging on there way some are blue, red and even champion ribbions. But they have had lessons before and have trainers. Im so one who learned all the jumping by herself. My father built all my jumps and everything. So you know Snobs do make me mad. Becuase im not the greatest rider ever and when they say I suck I do get mad, becuase no ones the greatest rider ever, unless you jsut some perfuct rider and win all the shows you go to and never fall off.

Ok I know this lady that I compete againest right, well her horse ,Kazar, (I love Him!!!!) after every event she puts him back in the trailer. Well ok yeah he is a stallion, but still I take my stud/gelding to shows and he doesn't go back in the trailer after ever event. And she pulls on his face all the time. She is riding this horse, Cowboy, in the show and she is running AA (Almost the highest division) and he is only Three!!!Ok yeah he is old enough to start training, but she ran him in AA last year too!!!!!!

I am terrible, I am to competitive and I will always go out to win. BUT I will be a bit modest here and say that I do not act like a snob and we go out there to have fun. But for some reason, I can't stop being competitive. I HAVE TO WIN!!!! It just terrible

I havent read all 4 pages of this topic but i totally agree with everyone on the first page! Horses are a part of my family and shouldnt be treated as a machine or something to be traded in for a younger model! Mine are with me for life and if i want another horse i will have to consider having a third rather than "swapping"!

Yes I hate it when people are like, "How many pets do you have? Livestock and horses don't count." Pigs, cows, and horses have feelings just as much as dogs and cats! Probably more than fish even! I count livestock and horses as pets, unless of course you live at a beef production company... you can't call your hamburger a pet... Sorry Reef but it's true! LOL

yeah i agree with everyone! I think it is just stupid when people treat there horses like crap! but i do have to admit that when this happened it was funny, well it was the very beginning of the show and you could go in the arena and warm up....and already the stupid lady was trying to show off!! She was going full speed on her Arabian that had to be maybe 2 years, well she was going full speed bareback and she went around a corner and fell of!!!, im sorry that was just too funny(she was ok, but hopefully is knocked some sense into her), also i saw a lady that for no reason was jerking on the horses mouth when he was being perfectly fine!! another thing i wanted to mention is the Amish....i feel so bad for those horse!! i see them all the time and its 90 degrees out and the horse is skinny, only a few years old, and well i dont know....they just treat them like they are a piece of machinery!! i love my horses more than anything...and that is the only reason you should get a horse..is if you truly love the animal type!!!

The Amish don't treat their horses like that.

I count a lot of my horses as livestock. The working horses are machines here, they are used as a piece of equipment. When you can use a motorbike or a quad you use a horse. I know you are all going to hate me here but my family works like we are still in the 1900's. Where horses are vehicles, yes we have some that are pet but the others are just workers.

DUed reef I agreed with you on your Thread staement. I have met many people who just keep horses{or any other animal that's prized, infact} as a use to get attention and things like that. I mean {as an ex} if you saw me walking my dog, which is a Husky, during baseball season in my town, I don't use him as a way to get attention. He acualy likes it, and plus, he loves sitting in the grass and sharing a hot dog from time to time, even though he can't stay for long because of his hair issues.
And if you really want an animal, either read up on it before you get it or when you get it. I read up about Huskys and Shelties when I got my dogs, and learned how to take care of them at the same time. Just wanting to put in a point.
Oh as well, lets say you got a new baby sibling, and your an only child and wanted a younger kid in the house for so lond[which for many, I know is true]. Well, you wouldn't just love it to death for a week then just make your parents get rid of the child. Think of animals not a wild animal, but something that actualy can think and speak for itself, but in a diffrent way than humans do.

That is true Kc, though with my brother, I try very hard to "make" my parents get rid of it. I hate him.

youre right abot the novelty aspect, i hate to see rich parents buying ponies for their spoilt kids who just get bored with them. the parents might call it a waste of money, but its the pet that pays the price.
i've been on the recieving end of the "get rid of it" scenario for 16.5 years before my brother moved out

Oui oui. I so agree with that Reef. Money can't buy happiness!
I actually wish I had an older sibling, someone to look up to besides my mom. You know?
