I know shows like X factor and American Idol are all the rage right now, but do you think the winners are ever actually good? there have been a few "successes", Will Young is still around, Girls Aloud had some good hits, most people hve heard of Kelly Clarkson... but does anyone remember Steve Brookstein? and I shudder at the thought of the cheeky girls...
but "pop stars" even come out of non-musical reality tv! people from Big Brother have released singles....
the worst part is it tells Joe Public that if you want enough, all your dreams can come true! which isnt true. As well as that, it tells people that being a famous singer should be all they've ever wanted, which also isnt true! i just think the nations embracing of this concept it teaching people to be unsatisfied with their lives... its quite sad really

Yeah, Evil Dick is my all time favorite contestant even though he isn't on the show anymore. What was that funny shirt he used to wear all the time? *thinks*

I think people like Leona Lewis (X Factor) and Jordin Sparks and Carrie Underwood (American Idol) are good. But some of the others (Kelly Clarkson for example) need to tone down the 'fame'.
I hate it because I can only catch X Factor clips on youtube. And it's just as good, if not better than American idol. Sometimes I wish I just magically got British TV shows on my satellite dish. I'm even more angry now that my BBC America channel seemed to disappear...

x factor just gets worse every year, funny how contrived it is though. you cant take it seriously, or expect these people to be successful

What is X Factor again? And I want to add Wipeout to the list of reality shows. Has anyone seen it? It cracks my family up! These people go on these extreme obstacle courses, and the winner gets what, $500 grand? Something like that, my mom wants to enter!
