Okay, I'm just as weak as any other animal lover, and I walk into every pet store I see. I went shopping with friends today, and we went to a pet store. It is called Pet Connection, and it is mainly a dog store. Everyone says not to buy dogs from pet stores, because they usually turn out to have some disease or something. We were picking them all up and stuff, and there were these two toy dogs (puppies of course) that my BFF and I fell in love with. She held the femal and I held the male, and we wanted to take them home. I went on the computer when I got home to see how much they were, and found out that all pet store dogs are from puppy mills! I had no idea, and now I understand all the sicknesses puppies from pet stores have!

well where else would they be from? i dont think pet shops in britain are allowed to sell dogs and cats (or at least none of them do) but most still sell fish, rabbits and sometimes even birds. the one near me used to keep chipmunks and chinchillas but they keep nothing living but fish now. i hate when pet shops are actually used to sell pets

Well, isn't that a Pet Shop's purpose? And Pet Shops charge thousands of dollars for pets (in my area) so I thought they'd come from a breeder of some sort. Or maybe the ASPCA? I don't know lol. I <3 chinchillas.

round here they sell supplies, like feed and bedding, toys and equiptment, stuff like that. i think its sick to treat animals like furniture like that, any kid with money could go buy a puppy and microwave it or strap firworks to it or whatever... breeders are at least responsible, but making it an industry puts profit before morality

Mmm. Plus, with the open cage tops for people to play with the animals, anyone can steal an animal. My local pet store (if you call the nearest mall local) recently had a dog stolen from it.

Well, the cages have tops, but they only put them on when the puppies are sleeping (lame.) so that people can't disturb them.

I know, but still. I'm not the kind of person that researches stuff that interests me, I just pick stuff up as I go.
