they already have adverts on tv, but i thought i'd draw everyone's attention to this. the new law is fantastic! but it does mean extra resources are needed, and the rspca recieves no government funding so they rely totally on donations. www.rspca-biggestanimalrescue.org.uk/The Animal Welfare Act which came into force in England and Wales in 2007 means that at last RSPCA Inspectors can do their job when they see ill-treated animals. Previously, we had to wait for proof that an animal was suffering before we could step in.
Already this Act has led to a 12% increase in cases for us to investigate. Thousands more animals need our help and we're desperate to prevent every single one from suffering. But we simply don't have enough Inspectors on the ground. Our force is at full stretch, often working 16-hour days. We urgently need to recruit more Inspectors.
Although we operate just like an emergency service, the RSPCA relies entirely on public support for this work. We need YOUR help – perhaps a gift of £3 a month - to meet our biggest ever challenge.

Wow that is awesome! Anyone know if there is a law in the USofA like that? I hope there is, if not I'm writing to my senator!
