right, so did lol no she isn't, but she's been hunting etc. Topps, our previous TB was an OTTB though, which is probably why nhe got gastric ulcers and then colic and died. me and my family are really anti racing techniques now, we dont midn racing, cos its fun, but we're against the poor diet they get with lots of energy food and no balance, and excessive training at too young an age etc...

Yes, plus they die often on the track. Barboro... (I know he didn't die on the track, but he died because of the track)

yeah thats true, although thast cant really be avoided, and is quite rare, its the training regime i object to

isnt it because they train so young and their bones havent fully set yet, so the risk of injury is higher?

yeah, that too.
also in the UK at least the age of a horse goes from january 1st, regardless of when they are born, so even though they have to be 18months old (i think) before training can begin, officially they will be 18, but in reality they could be more or less yearlings.

Wow... that is kind of sad. Like, what if the horse was born December 30? Or something like that. He'd be really young when the training started.

Personally I don't object to racing, with their training, feed, etc. Every event has different techniques for that specific type of riding. What I hate is when people bring death or injury into it. I know TONS of horses that die a horrible death from, polo cross, eventing (dressage, show jumping and cross country). Yes I said dressage, there are a lot of unnatural movements (nothing wrong with that though) that can cause there knees to break, backs to displace and so on. Sorry I change the subject about your horses mate, just thought I would throw my opinion in there (as per usual).
