I was just stating a fact, I didn't put anyone down, nor did I take the Lord's name in vain. His name is Jehovah not God..... God is his title.

I agree with you, I get sooo upset when I see people calling other people names like "retard" and "mental" it is very insulting not just to the people being called a retard, but to the people who really, medically are.

Ah, so that is what you call him by.. And saying Oh my God. Is using his name in vain. No that is taking his title in vein his name is Jehovah.... Back in th older days people were stoned by calling him by his real name that had to call him by his title. If you don't believe me read in the middle of the Bible its there.

offensive comments arent about who said them, theyre about how they're taken by others. after an apology there is an element of the listener "choosing" to be offended if it generally wasn't meant to be takenm like that, but when the explanation is as insulting as the original comment its very difficult to have any respect for who you're talking to

I am sorry that I am so stubborn but I do not see how it is an offense to her. If she is catholic then she follows the bible and in the bible it clearly states that his NAME is Jehovah. I really am sorry I can't see it your way Reef, I just don't undersatnd... I am not the sharpest tool in the shed....

whats the difference between using title and name? surely it would be the derogatory tone thats the insulting thing rather than the word, and god knows exactly how offensive to mean to be about him because he's inside your brain all the time
