Well, Im having problems. Being a junior, I don`t know where to start, and I really dont know where to find my first race.. I really have been training hard and continue to train while looking for endurance racing for juniors in alberta. Ive found a couple but I dont know if my horse, Magic a TWH. Could do it.. Also.. I dont know when the season is.. And what I need like supplies... If you could list it.. Please.. That would be great. But.. I also have a few questions during the race... Here I will list all my questions below. Thanks. * What supplies do I need for and during the race. * What should I carry in my bag? * My TWH Is in good shape, but could the breed in general do it? * For a sponsor... A adult sponsor since Im under 16, do I need one to ride with me?

To answer your first question, supplies before and during the race. Nothing really for before just your usual things that you would do for any event. For during the race, you shouldn't really need anything, others bring sponges to wet the horses down in the creeks you should pass, but personally I think that is stupid because when you wet the horse, it heats them up to much. For AFTER the race, you should have several bucks full of water mixed with molasses so you horse wants to drink as much as he can. This way before you are judge on how tired you horse is, he will hopefully urinate before that and then be relaxed and you should get an "A" on that. And also, forcing your horse to have water also makes is hydrated and there is no way you could get less then an "A" on that as well.
The answer to your second question is water, some people bring food but that can upset your stomach on the long rides, causing you to get pains and such.
The answer to you third question is yes the breed in general should be able to do it if you have trained properly. Personally for endurance I used TB X Arab this way the had the speed of the TB but also the endurance of the Arabian.
In Australia, for beginners, it is compulsory to have a guardian sense you are not at an "adult" age, but I do not know the rules for over seas sorry.

Well, Thanks for the information.. Personally with all the training i've been doing so far it is fun. But hard. Some of the boys at school call its a sissy sport.. Untill I took them with me on a 10 mile ride. Haha.. They couldnt move after.. Because I told them to stretch and they told me that it was a sissy sport.. They got excuses for not running in Gym. But me, im perfectly fine.. Also.. I wouldnt bring food. And for water and molases. I would have tons of that waiting at the end.. And my TWH doesnt get tired easily.. I can work him for 20 minutes and hes dripping with sweat.. I hope I have time to groom him before the vet looks at him.. Also, will they dock points for scratches.. Sorry I dont know how this thing works.. Could you please explain to me how the vetrinary examine works a little bit.. Oh and for the Adult.. or sponsor as they call it here. This is my following information needed. Over there if your under 16 do you need a sponsor/adult too ride with you? My only concern for that is.. (My dads old quarter horse mare would not be able to make it.. Do you have any suggestions for that.. I have a Arabian/QH That he could ride.. But he pulls bucking and rearing fits.. but usually if you ride him for a long time he settles down, he can be skiddish at times. My second concern is. MY DAD doesnt want me to get into this sport, and doesnt think I can do it.. My mom, who has a slight touch not bad, the doctor said it wont get anyworse if she goes to yoga and stretches properly before she rides. She has been... And I havnt asked her if she would like to go.. Maybe I could find someone, or ask if they would go that has a horse and/or if they would be up too it. Also.. Does it cost much too get into these kinds of things?

With the vet checks, the make you trot your horses out too two cones then back to them to see if they are limping. The test for dehydration, and also take the horses temperature which is why who should cover your horse with water from an Ice bucket. BUT only cover the horse with an ice bath after you have hosed them down to get them use to the cold. Our is Under 17 year olds need to have a guardian. Normally it doesn't cost that much for an 60km (you can work that out into miles if you want) was only 20 dollars for me, but when i went up 80km was 40 dollars, and 150kms was 60 dollars. Then it gets more expensive from there.

I get the Appaloosa Journal magazine and they did a bit on endurance, I think it sounds like sooo much fun! I didn't read all the stuff above but I hear that Tennesse Walkers are one of the better horses for endurance. I would love to get into endurance.

Nope Arab x TB are the worlds best endurance horses, unless you talk about purebreds then its just the Arabian, because that i what they were bred to do.
